Summertime and the living is easy?

It’s been ages since I’ve written a blog entry, and it’s not because nothing has happened, but because I don’t have internet in my new house yet. But today, on a sunny Sunday I took my Macbook with me to the laines to freeload of the various café’s WiFi. (Yes, today I am one of those pretentious people – I finally understand why people sit in cafés with their laptops)

Instead of a really long-winded entry about all I’ve been up to, I feel that the bullet point format is more appropriate:

- So, firstly I moved last weekend! It was so long seeing as I had two days to move all my stuff and clean out the old place. My new house is just a bit further down Lewes Road, and it is quite nice. But it is a bit strange having to get used to a new place after having lived in the same house for 2 years.

- I have also finally started doing some freelance games testing again. The problem is that it’s freelance and they don’t give me enough work!

- However, I had a job interview on Friday morning and I start working at American Express in the end of August! Yes, I will be one of those gay people in Brighton working at Amex. I am very excited about this job though, or just excited about finally getting a regular income!

- The artist – oh, the artist. I saw him the other day, I went out with him and his new flatmate to an amateur comedy night at the Brunswick in Hove. It was a good night, until his flatmates friend accidently stood on someone’s dog in Tom’s bar and got ‘punched’ (I’d say it was a hard slap) and threatened. Who bring a dog to a crowded bar after midnight anyway? We carried on drinking after that and just before we went to bed the artist actually gave me a toothbrush. Yes my own toothbrush in his bathroom!

- I haven’t seen him for a while again, he still does not have a lot of time to see me. If I only get to see him every other week when he lives on the other side of Brighton, how often would I see him when he moves to London in September?

- I’ve had some fun random night out in Brighton as well, so am really looking forward to spending the summer living and working here. It will be good!!

- Graduation is approaching, which I’m really not looking forward to. A formal ceremony where you have to wear a stupid tent (and pay £40 to rent it) in order to get a piece of paper. I just know that I will fall over on stage. Also, that means my parents and my brother are coming which is not that bad really, but they are making it a holiday and have booked a hotel for 6 nights, which means that I will have to be there to entertain them for that long. It’s not about me being harsh, but I just like having my independence, and I don’t really have anything in common with my family (they don’t even seem to know what degree I’ve been doing for the past three years) and we don’t even live in the same country!

Hey you, glad you are O.K I was beginning to wonder where you had gone. I often wondered who uses those cafes, well now I know.
Hope you settle in to your new place xx
Glad to know you will always have clean teeth in every eventuality.
